Is epoxy/Polyaspartic flooring a good idea?
Epoxy flooring is a safe, durable, low-maintenance flooring option for commercial and industrial facilities where both durability and aesthetics are important.
How do you maintain an epoxy/Polyaspartic floor?
Mopping with water is usually enough to keep epoxy floor looking new. Heavy soiling may call for scrubbing with a heavy-duty degreaser followed by water rinse.
Do epoxy/Polyaspartic floors scratch easily?
Epoxy resins are typically very hard and can scratch fairly easily. We address this by using a finish coat with exceptionally higher abrasion resistance, such as a Polyaspartic coating
Do epoxy/Polyaspartic floors crack?
Most epoxy floor cracking is caused by the concrete substrate cracking. The coating system is only as good as the integrity of the substrate. That is why our team focuses on preparing the concrete surface by correctly detailing the cracks and using flexible resins to bridge the movement.
Is epoxy/polyaspartic flooring slippery when wet?
For most environments our coatings provide enough traction, however in icy/wet conditions it can become slippery. Our team mitigates against this by adding anti-slip silica sand with the top coating to provide skid resistance.
Does epoxy/polyaspartic stop moisture?
Yes. In cases where moisture vapor emission (MVE) is very problematic from the concrete surface, we will use moisture barrier coating as base coat to protect against these emissions. This will allow the coating system to stay bonded to the floor and avoid peeling off.
Is epoxy flooring waterproof?
Polyaspartic and Epoxy systems are waterproof. However, if the concrete moves and cracks, it may impact its performance. Which is why floor preparation is really important. We utilize flexible resins to make sure we are filling cracks and allowing for movement without crack
Is epoxy/Polyaspartic flooring cost effective?
Our flooring systems are very cost competitive. With the right professional installation, you will lower the cost of cleaning and maintaining your floors for a long time.
Which is better, epoxy/Polyaspartic or tiles?
Epoxy/Polyaspartic flooring provides a more sanitary environment compared to tile. It completely seals the concrete surface, whereas tile is adhered to the surface with a setting mud or adhesive. This adhesive does not stop moisture permeation and can harbor bacteria under the tile and in the grout joints.
Can you put epoxy/Polyaspartic over damaged concrete?
Most coating system can be used to restore or repair damaged concrete. Our team has a number of repair materials based on your needs. However, significant floor dips or structural damages cannot be fixed by epoxy. They will show up clearly once the coating is done. Our team will evaluate and recommend the right solutions in such cases.
Can you put new epoxy over old epoxy?
A well bonded epoxy floor can be recoated with proper cleaning and creation of the surface profile. However, if the existing flooring is peeling, it must be removed to apply the new coating. If this is not done, the new layer will also fail as it will not bond properly with the surface. Sprinter has specialized equipment to remove old, peeling coatings.
How much does epoxy flooring cost?
There are many different types of flooring options. The number of coats, condition of floor, use case and design details will all play a factor in the total cost. Contact our team for a free consultation and quote.
